You need all three to be turned on (models/BIOS may vary) for Memory Integrity to turn on in 1809. Why? They never bothered turning on Secure Boot, and Virtualization, and Virtual I/O in the BIOS on these older models. Just saying, they ran without it for half a decade already, and if you (like me) can't afford to upgrade these old, yet perfectly fine machines, turn it off.Īlso most people/companies will never run into this problem with 1809. The affected models are using hardware that is over half a decade old, and you did not get this security feature in Windows until 1709. However, it is worth noting that the "Memory Integrity" feature under "Core Isolation" is relatively safe to turn off for these machines. And the error is code 48 (blocked by Windows security). Especially because the Intel driver works just fine with Memory Integrity off in 1809, and with it off or on in 1803. I really do believe this is on Microsoft's shoulders.
Since the Memory Integrity feature could be turned on with the same machine, and the same driver, in 1803, without issue, it seems that there is a Microsoft issue here (Windows bug) falsely blocking this previously secure, accepted, and still very much working Intel driver. Their official stance is that you should stay on older Windows builds and then buy new computers with 6th gen or newer processors. AFAIK Intel does not care about this problem because this only affects older systems (i7-3770 w/Intel HD Graphics 4000, possibly others).
